Ich bin total traurig über den Tod von Astrid L.. Auch wenn ich sie nicht persönlich gekannt habe, fühlte ich mich bei der Nachricht ganz komisch. Als würde es sich um eine bekannte Person handeln. Ich wünschte mir immer, einmal zu ihren Lebzeiten ihre Heimat in Schweden zu besuchen. Das ist mir leider nicht gelungen. Aber ich werde es dennoch auf alle Fälle noch tun. i remember clearly when i got my first book `the children of noisy village`. a neighbor gave it to my four siblings and me as a christmas present. i must have been 6 years old...my dad read it to us but i was the only one who felt in love with it immediately...so i kept it! and i read it like ten times. i read it to my younger brother when he was sick and i read it when i was sitting little girls...! i just love astrid lindgren and i will never forget her and her great books which made me dreaming. i cried bitterly when she died. now i am having a report about her in order to introduce her to some south americans and koreans from school. i although bought some books for a little girl i am taking care of... i always wanted to have a birthday like lisa from the noisy village...(o; astrid lindgren will be in my thoughts forever...

Hi, I am originally from Poland. I was reading as a child a lot of books by Astrid Lindgren in Polish translation. Those books helped me to survive during my sickness. Especially Children from Bullerby was my favourite. Now I would like to read its English version to my dauther...but I cant find any bookstore or website with this book for sale. I'm just doing a report on Astrid for school and I came across this site and thought I'd fill this out. My friend Anna, whose from Sweden, gave me the books Ronia the Robbers Daughter and Mio, my Son when I was in third grade and they've been my favorite books ever since. I respect HER and her books and the style she wrote with. I would never ever tell anything bad about her... HER books are so funny, cute, interesting but simple too... She had (or has? May-be she is somewhere here? Flys around us, sees us... laughs and crys with us... I wish I knew...) What I wanted to say is: she had/has so many childness inside of her... That's good... I'm 15 years old and I've grown up with Astrid Lindren books.I liked all characters but my favourite was Emil. In the childhood i've always wanted to met him :).

I think that she was that person who let my imagination develop.... I'm very sorry that i'm too late to say thank you.

I have a dream, or you can call it "desire", to be an author.. I like writing so much, but unfortunately, I don't have enough courage to show my writings to other people.. Hopefully, someday, I'll be able to have my own books published, just like Astrid.. I've read Emil for many many times, and I ALWAYS want to do it again and again and again..
